About Us

Rick, Irene, Luna, and Theo
Buddha at the Gas Pump (BatGap Non-Profit) is administered by Rick and Irene Archer. Rick prepares for and conducts the interviews while Irene selects and schedules the guests to be interviewed (each doing many other BatGap-related things). We are immensely grateful to our team of volunteers for their invaluable and vital contributions.
We live in a small town in Iowa with our two dogs. BatGap is a labor of love. Rick has always been interested in all things spiritual while Irene has always felt called to help others (including Rick!).
Prior to BatGap, Rick and Irene both spent many years teaching meditation and attending long meditation courses.
BatGap began in 2009 with a few local guests. In 2010 we began interviewing guests from around the world. We were one of the first spiritual interview shows on the internet.
Note: Rick is a founding member of the Association for Spiritual Integrity and is pledged to abide by its Honor Code of Ethics and Good Practice. Interview guests are expected to uphold similar standards. We will not feature anyone with a credible record of exploitation or abuse.
